Struggle and Revolution in the USA’s Criminal ‘Injustice’ System by Dr Robert King
16 September 2015
6pm, Lecture, Dalhousie Building, University of Dundee, Old Hawkhill

Robert King is a prison reform activist, free member of the Angola 3 who served 29 years in solitary confinement, and former member of the Black Panther Party. Rooted in his extraordinary experiences, Robert King will explore the racial, social and political reasons why the USA has the highest incarceration rate in the world. From chattel slavery to the supermax prisons of today, he will challenge the principles upon which the USA’s prison system is founded and give a first hand account of the part that activism plays in the continuing struggle for prison reform and human rights.
