The history group is part of the department of humanities and offers vibrant and inspiring courses and is committed to enhancing its internationally-recognised research profile. We have seen considerable expansion in student numbers in recent years and have maintained a strong position in mainstream QR research among the post-1992 universities. The research and teaching focus of history is in the period since the late eighteenth century.
Now we are looking for two lecturers / senior lecturers to join our team with a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, enhancing the student learning experience, and high-quality research. You will contribute to undergraduate teaching across the range of the history programme.
You will have well developed and current knowledge and understanding of a period of Modern History since the 1770s in line with the teaching and research interests of the group. Preference may be given to expertise in American history and/or digital history. You must have a doctorate in a relevant area of history as well as evidence of published work of REF calibre or potential. Given the likely pattern of students’ interests, you will be expected to contribute at least in part to the teaching of twentieth-century topics.
Please make it clear on your application if you do not wish to be considered for the fixed term role.
