Schools & Undergraduates

BAAS is committed to encouraging the study of American History, Culture, Literature and Politics in all schools in the United Kingdom. To this end, we have made Schools membership free, so that teachers can access BAAS materials. For more information about joining BAAS, please click here.

We are also to construct a series of resources aimed specifically at A Level students, including YouTube videos, reading lists and roundtable discussions. Links to these will soon be available on from the Schools page.

Conferences

BAAS currently runs a number of conferences for Year 12 and 13 students on American Studies topics that are connected to the A Level Syllabuses for History, Politics and English Literature. Details about future conferences will be available soon.

For examples of past conferences, click here.

Teachers

For teachers of US History, BAAS offers residencies at the Robert H. Smith International Center for Jefferson Studies, in Monticello, USA. Applications for 2014-15 are now closed, but will reopen for 2016 in the Autumn.
